The combat itself isn’t that good, and I put it lightly: you have some sort of a rock-paper-scissors system in place (light/heavy combo, slow guard break, and a stupid-looking throw), and if you hold the buttons pressed, then you can switch to special attacks and a super. The combat, which could be fast and furious, will take your attention away. The worlds end up colliding, which means the Shonen Jump universe(s) and the real world locations mix in the background, but I highly doubt you’ll look at them for a long time. There’s a unique character creation, so you can make something ridiculous (using moves from other Shonen Jump characters – if you have played Dragon Ball Xenoverse before, this system will be familiar to you, although in subpar quality), only to defeat the unique villain duo, designed by the legend himself: Akira Toriyama. Then, Trunks comes in and revives you with the cube, and, of course, you’re the only person being able to save the world. The story is typical: Frieza, one of the villains in Dragon Ball Z – who was seen in Hungary in the last properly aired DBZ episode in 1999 as getting cut in half by Trunks before getting banned, lol – kicks off the game by killing you on the Times Square. Jump Force isn’t in this category, but I’d only recommend picking it up if it’s about ten dollars. There are also games which are not worth your money (who loves being thrown off the server out of nowhere, randomly? Fallout 76 is a prime example!). "The Billion-Fold World Trichiliocosm" is one of the few Awakening Moves that cannot be blocked, making it the perfect way to end most battles. There are games which are so bad that I’d recommend you to try them. "One-Sword Style Lai Death Lion Song" can be chained following a throw and delivers very good damage, even if it was retroactively nerfed. Out of the entire roster, Zoro is the hardest to defend against. In some way or another, Jump Force ensures that every ability can be avoided, be it through a well-timed block or a side-step. However, in terms of abilities, Zoro has comfortably the most overwhelming collection. In terms of pure damage, One Piece's Zoro is a tier below the likes of Ichigo, Kenshin, or even Blackbeard. R2+X (With Awakening meter 50% filled) / RT+A (With Awakening Meter 50% filled) The character is among the fasted in the game, which is always a positive for getting around blocks. Along with delivering a powerful hit to anyone who steps into the attack's zone, a fully charged Godspeed also enhances Killua's speed and attack power. While not too common, there are a few abilities that grant stat boosts, with Killua's Godspeed arguably being the best. Killua's brilliance comes down to one specific move: Godspeed. While it may be easy to become distracted by Killua's electrifying appearance, that should not overshadow the fighter's incredible moveset. Hunter x Hunter is one of the greatest shounen anime of all time, so it's only fitting that arguably the best character in the show is a beast in Jump Force. A few more of the best fighters in Jump Force have been added to this article. While not pulling amazing numbers on Steam, Jump Force is still averaging a few hundred players at any given moment, which is far from bad for a game that will soon be celebrating its three-year anniversary. Most of that has to do with the sheer number of DLC packages that have been released for the game even more than two years following Jump Force's debut, new characters were still being added to the roster, with Giorno Giovanna joining the ranks in April 2021. Updated on January 3, 2022, by Mark Sammut: Considering it had a pretty underwhelming launch, Jump Force has enjoyed a surprisingly long shelf life. Still, certain fighters in Jump Force will always be better than others.Īs a side note, assist moves will not be considered. While some characters have a noticeable disadvantage, like Sanji not being able to fight female characters, most are viable. More often than not, a player's selection will mostly be determined by their anime preferences. RELATED: Best Mobile Games Based On Animeĭue to the game's nature, a tier list is less set in stone than something like Super Smash Bros. As a casual multiplayer fighting game, Jump Force is acceptable, permitting other people are actually playing online. While the arena fighting game did not receive the greatest of reviews, Bandai Namco's epic crossover does have a decent combat system that largely rises above the questionable visuals or lackluster campaign. Jump Forceexists to finally answer that age-old question of who would win in a fight between Dragon Ball Z's Goku and One Piece's Luffy.
